Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler: Life Post-Divorce

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler, formerly of 'Very Cavallari,' continue to navigate life post-divorce. They share three children, and while Cavallari has faced criticism for her parenting choices, she remains outspoken and defends herself. Cutler recently sold his remaining Nashville property, marking a final tie to their past together. Cavallari has stated she's happily dating. Both appear to be focused on moving forward individually, while co-parenting their children.

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler are proud co-parents to their three kids.

The former couple welcomed their first child, Camden, in 2012 and got married the next year. Jaxon joined the family in 2014, and Cavallari and Cutler announced the birth of their third child, Saylor, in 2015.

The Uncommon James founder and the former NFL player split in April 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage and 10 years together.

When it comes to co-parenting, the pair have both talked about how they make it work. "It's good," Cutler told E! News in June 2021. "We've done a good job of putting them first." The same year, in an interview with Grazia Magazine, the mom of three added that she takes her cues from her own parents' divorce.

"Never put the kids in the middle of it, no matter how mad you are at your ex-spouse. One thing that my mom did was she never said anything bad about my dad," Cavallari said. "Now that I'm older, I really respect that. I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He's their father. That's important and they need to see that from me."

In October 2024, Cavallari shared a custody update on her podcast Let's Be Honest.

"I don't know how much time I have for dating," she told listeners. "When I was dating last fall, I was still doing split custody with my ex and I had every other week off from my kids and that's changed."

Later that same month, Cutler was arrested in Franklin, Tenn., and now faces charges of DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence.

From welcoming their little ones to their sweetest family moments over the years, here's everything to know about Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari's three kids.

Cavallari and Cutler became parents on Aug. 8, 2012, with the arrival of their firstborn son, Camden Jack.

"We are thrilled to welcome Camden Jack Cutler into the world,"  the new mom posted on Twitter (now known as X). "He was born this morning weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz. Everyone is doing great!"

Cavallari later shared that Cutler had a front-row seat to Camden's birth despite her initial desire for him not to watch.

"I was like, 'You're going to be behind me. You're not going to see anything,' " she told E!'s Giuliana Rancic in 2013. But the nurses had other plans, Cavallari added. "At that point, I'm like, 'Whatever.' So he held my leg — he saw the whole thing," she shared.

Much like his reality TV scene-stealing mom, Camden has developed quite the personality as he's grown up. In December 2022, Cavallari shared a cute video of her and Camden cooking pasta bolognese from her True Comfort cookbook.

"This kid kills me," she captioned a clip of Camden wiggling in front of the stove as he stirred the pot.

The previous October, Cavallari revealed that Camden had stolen a pair of her white sneakers to wear to school. "So I definitely didn't think that the first kid to steal shoes from me would be Camden, but here we are," she wrote on a snap of her eldest showing off his kicks.

On his 11th birthday in August 2023, Cavallari shared more about her eldest's personality. "Watching you become the most incredible young man is such a gift. You’re pure love and light and I’m thankful every single day for you," she wrote on Instagram.

Nearly two years after Camden's arrival, Cavallari and Cutler welcomed their second son, Jaxon Wyatt, on May 7, 2014.

"Welcome Jaxon Wyatt Cutler 7 lbs., 11 oz. 5/7/14," the new mom wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her hospital bracelet and her baby's booties.

"The second time around, you know exactly what to expect and we're just ready," Cavallari told PEOPLE ahead of the birth. "This one, I'm like, 'Let's get him out here, I want to see him, I just want to hold him and see what he looks like.' I'm just really excited more than anything."

Though Cavallari and Cutler split when Jaxon was young, the former couple have been dedicated to spending as much time with their kids as possible. One year after their split, the Very Cavallari star revealed that during her "off weeks," when the kids are with their dad, she takes them each out one at a time for some quality bonding. On one of Jaxon's dates, he dressed to impress.

"I've been taking one kid at a time on my off weeks for date night and last night was Jaxon's turn," Cavallari wrote on Instagram in April 2021. "This kid kills me- he wore a suit and bow tie with dress shoes and was the best little date I could ask for. He kept me laughing the entire time. Thankful to be able to spend some one-on-one time with my babies."

Jaxon has even taken an interest in his mom's dating life, as she documented on Instagram in June 2022. "I'm getting dating advice from my boys," Cavallari said in the video, in which she covered her boys' faces with emojis. "Jaxon just said I need to date somebody older." When she asked him why, he replied, "Young people are crazy."

In May 2024, Cavallari celebrated Jaxon's 10th birthday with a post on her Instagram Stories that featured a throwback photo of her son as a toddler, giving his mom a kiss.

"Happy birthday to my baby bull, Jaxy!" she wrote. "I love you to the moon my sweet man."

Cavallari and Cutler welcomed their third child, daughter Saylor James, on Nov. 23, 2015.

"She's going to steal Jay's heart, which will in turn melt mine!" the reality star told American Baby magazine in 2015. "I'm excited for the boys to grow up with a sister. I think it will help them to better understand and respect women."

In February 2021, the mom of three shared a sweet snap of her daughter and her cooking together, reflecting on their special solo time. "Saylor gets out of school an hour before the boys so we always get to have a little girl time," she captioned the photo. "It's the last few months of this before my baby is in kindergarten so I'm soaking it up. Chocolate chip cookies today with my lil bestie."

Sayler and Cavallari celebrated another mother-daughter milestone in April 2022: getting Saylor's ears pierced. Cavallari shared the big news on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of her youngest's new diamond studs and writing that she was "a champ" during the process.

On Saylor's 8th birthday, Cavallari revealed that despite being the youngest, her daughter is able to hold her own with her siblings.

" ... you have the ability to nurture and take care of everyone you love, while also holding your own (especially with your older brothers)," she wrote on Instagram in November 2023. "You’re my favorite girl to do life with. I’m the luckiest to be your mama."

Former ‘Very Cavallari’ Stars: Where Are They Now? Kristin Cavallari, Jay Cutler, Shannon Ford and More

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler: Life Post-Divorce
Yahoo

Very Cavallari may not have been on the air for long — but it certainly left a lasting impression.

The reality series, which premiered in 2018, offered a glimpse at Kristin Cavallari's life in Nashville, Tennessee, with then-husband Jay Cutler as she opened up her flagship Uncommon James store. In the short-lived show, viewers got a chance to meet the team behind the brand and see their behind-the-scenes drama.

After three seasons, Very Cavallari was canceled following Cavallari's split from Cutler. One month later, the businesswoman confirmed her show would not be returning.

"As I start this new chapter in my life, I have decided not to continue with Very Cavallari. I’ve absolutely loved my time filming and am so grateful to E! Entertainment for making this journey possible," she wrote via Instagram in 2020. "To the fans: I can’t thank you enough for all your support and for keeping up with me all of these years. I love you guys."

Cavallari later broke down the reason why she could no longer film her life. "It was [a hard decision]. However, it was definitely the right decision. Once I made the decision, I had such a sense of relief," she explained during an interview with Kelly Clarkson in October 2020. "I was getting a lot of anxiety about it. My life has changed very much. I have three little kids and even though I am from the reality TV world, I've always, sort of, kept my life somewhat private in a sense and kept the cameras at an arm's length. I wasn't going to expose my divorce on camera and have my kids see that one day. So, I decided to walk away from it."

Jay Cutler Offloads Final Memory Of Kristin Cavallari Marriage With $3.1 Million Loss

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler: Life Post-Divorce

Jay Cutler is focused on making his marriage to Kristin Cavallari a thing of the past!

The athlete has bid farewell to a significant property he shared with his influencer ex-wife last week as part of his transition from the broken marriage.

Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari walked down the aisle in 2013 and decided to part ways from their 7-year union in 2020 in a messy divorce process.

Cutler has let the home they shared as a couple in Tennessee go for an all-cash sale on Wednesday for $7.9 million, down from its original listing of $11 million in early 2023.

The listing was reportedly handled by Tim Thompson of Tim Thompson Premier Realtors and Marty Warren of Zeithlin Sotheby's International Realty.

The 10,697-square-foot home, whose sale was described as a loss for the former NFL star, boasts 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a gym, a sauna, and a pool house on an expansive 45-acre lot.

Cutler and Cavallari purchased the impressive property for $4.23 million in 2018 and then expanded the size of the estate by buying an additional 35 acres for $1.2 million.

The estranged couple's home made several cameos on their hit E! Reality series "Very Cavallari." Jay was awarded the property in their divorce settlement, which doubled as his primary residence until its sale, per TMZ.

While Cutler settled into his awarded residence, his ex-wife accused him of withholding money to stop her from acquiring a new home. However, Jay argued that they already had an array of existing properties, which would make any purchase financially irresponsible.

See photos of the home here.

The fashion icon described her marriage to the athlete as toxic, stating that she was unhappy during the length of their union.

In August 2022, The Blast reported that Cavallari granted several interviews after their divorce, during which she detailed her marital experiences to the former NFL star.

Despite her accusations, Cutler refused to clear the air surrounding the mom of two's comments, expressing that he has "steered clear of all that."

Cutler continued that he had no reservations about the E! star's decision to express herself, but he chose not to engage in a media brawl with her for the sake of their children.

"I also don't understand, It's two and a half years. Why are we having these conversations?" he added on the "Sofia with an F" podcast with Sofia Franklin, where, like his ex-wife, he also discussed his life before, during, and after the NFL.

Cutler and Cavallari popped out on the scene very much in love in September 2010 and announced their engagement in April 2011.

They briefly broke up in July 2011 but rekindled their relationship in November and walked down the aisle in Nashville, Tennesse, on June 7, 2013. The couple thereafter welcomed their three kids, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor.

Unfortunately, things went sour between the lovebirds and they announced their separation in 2020, claiming irreconcilable differences.

The estranged couple's inability to resolve a handful of money concerns, including Cavallari's plan to buy a new home, delayed the divorce process for two years.

The couple finalized their divorce in June 2022, with Cutler reportedly celebrating after the settlement, which he described as a "happy ending."

However, that does not seem true, as Cavallari's comments after the union gave a completely different perspective and sounded more like their divorce was Cutler's fault.

The mom of three disclosed that she basically called off the engagement for the same reasons she got a divorce. "And so I guess if there's any takeaway from that is you can't ignore red flags, People don't change, and you've got to trust your gut," noted Cavallari.

She continued that it took her a few years to finally pull the plug on their marriage as she initially found divorce "really scary," but her resolve for her kids not to share the unhappiness she felt in the marriage carried her through the finish line.

Cavallari was convinced that following her gut about the divorce was the right decision when she answered fans' questions on her podcast "Let's Be Honest" in 2023.

The 37-year-old disclosed that she and Cutler were surprisingly on good terms, and she was excited about that fact, declaring: "Oh my god. I'm so happy about it because, you know, everyone wins when parents are on good terms."

The Blast shared that the actress admitted that her amicable relationship with the former NFL star reflected positively on their three kids, adding:

"My kids see it, I mean, it's just easier. And listen, I get it. When people's hearts are breaking, it's really difficult. It's really, really difficult, and so, you know, seeing Jay happy is the best."

Kristin Cavallari slams critics of her dating 24-year-old: 'They’re all up in arms'

Kristin Cavallari is dunzo with the critics of her dating a younger man.

Earlier this week, the Uncommon James founder, 37, went Instagram official with Montana Boyz member Mark Estes, 24, in a selfie of the pair under a beach cabana. She captioned the post, "He makes me happy" with a red heart emoji. Cavallari's dating life was first detailed on the MTV reality show "Laguna Beach," which traced the lives of high schools in Orange County, California and later on the popular spinoff "The Hills."

On Friday, Cavallari shot back at critics of her dating life in a TikTok video.

"When they’re all up in arms that im dating a 24 year old. Andddd?" the mom of three captioned the video, as she mouthed the words to a sound that said, "So what are you gonna do about it?"

Kristin Cavallari says she left E! reality show 'Very Cavallari' to keep Jay Cutler divorce private

Cavallari also made a recent cameo in a video with Estes' fellow Montana Boyz member including Kade Wilcox and Kaleb Winterburn. The Montana Boyz are a TikTok trio from the northwestern state who post videos lip syncing in western apparel. The group has gained half a million followers on the video sharing platform.

In a TikTok posted on the Montana Boyz' official page Friday, the three members lip synced to Jason Aldean's hit "She's Country" before Cavallari appeared and sang a lyric before Estes embraced her.

Estes also shared a PDA-filled video of him and Cavallari dancing poolside earlier in the week on TikTok.

Before Estes made her happy, Cavallari dealt with a highly publicized divorce.

The news comes four years after "The Hills" alum's split from former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, with whom she starred on her own E! reality show "Very Cavallari" which lasted three seasons.

In an ET interview at the time, the reality star opened up candid about her split from Cutler, revealing that "Very Cavallari" was ended so she wouldn't have to address the divorce on television.

"The decision to end the show was that I didn't want to have to talk about my divorce on camera and have to expose that," she said. "I think that some things should be kept private."
