As Taylor Sheridan's new show Landman airs on Paramount+, fans are already eager to know if the Texas-set drama will be back for a second season.
While the streamer hasn't officially confirmed a Landman season 2, it's looking likely—thanks to a comment from Demi Moore earlier this year.
“It’s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s kind of this subculture that we haven’t seen before, which is what I think Taylor does so well,” Moore shared at Cannes. On the series, Moore plays Cami, the wife of oil titan, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). “I thought we looked really good. He was lovely and I’ve known Billy Bob Thornton for a long time. I’ve already completed the first season and I’m excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year.”
Given the quote, it's likely we'll hear about a Landman renewal before 2025. “The show has done very well, so it just stands to reason that they would do another one,” star Billy Bob Thornton said earlier this month, shortly after he received his Golden Globe nomination. “But especially when you get a nomination for something — that draws attention to your show, so I think that helps. I can’t see why they wouldn’t. I imagine we’ll find it pretty soon, because if we were going to do one, we’ll have to start not too long after the first of the year.”
Co-creator Christian Wallace would love to return to the world of Landman, saying, “As long as there are stories to tell, I would love to keep telling them. And I think we really just skinned the surface on our first season, and that’s saying something because they cover a lot of ground. So yeah, I hope we keep telling these stories for a while.”
If the show is renewed for a second season, it's likely the majority of the key cast would return, including:
Randolph told T&C she prepared for her role as Ainsley with an eye towards the hope Landman would run for many seasons. “When you are starting a show that hopefully goes as long as possible, it's so important that you establish them the way you want in the first season,” she explained.
We'll update this as soon as we learn more about Landman season two. While we wait for news, catch up on season one on Paramount+:
